Parallax Definition is a collection of rhythmic Techno exploration from MOD3LLR, the new guise from Alonso Varela taking on the more expansive edge of the Techno universe. This EP offers up some of the funkiest and tripped synth work you will have heard in a long time.Beyond the Edge opens the EP with a almost percussive and ever evolving line, progressively drawing the track through as its embellished with strident percussive work. Hypnotic is a word used often in this kind of music but this one really pulls you in.
Spherical Cycles straightens things up a little but continues the same rich tone established in the first, at times it almost feels like an evolution of Beyond the Edge but tilt shifted into a parallel universe.
In Between takes things a little deeper and more serious from the outset, a track aimed to turn the focus from the synth work to the rhythm. Perfecting for changing the pace.
Closing the EP Refracted Dimensions throws the rule book out, this is MOD3LLR showing the breadth of his talent, breaks complement and almost underwater vibe that gives this track a gravitas akin to sitting in the middle of a steelworks in full production.
